MindGames
is APA’s national residency team competition. Remember College Bowl? Do you like Jeopardy? This competition is intended to be a fun, educational activity that challenges the residents on patient care and medical knowledge.

Here is how it works:
A preliminary round will take place in February (Feb. 11 to 22, 2013). To prepare for this competition, the Training Director and/or Chair need to select three (3) residents who will form your program team. The selected residents MUST be APA members to qualify. Your team (together) will take a timed online examination - 150 multiple choice questions in 60 minutes. Questions will cover various topics in psychiatry including history, epidemiology and neurology. The three highest scoring teams with the fastest posted time will advance to compete in the live national competition. The winning residency programs will send their team to the national “Mind Games” competition. The winning teams will be announced at the AADPRT meeting in March.

Dates to Remember:

  • January - February 2013 - Prepare and select your team members. All players must be current APA members by the time of the online competition. Each player need his/her own APA membership number as this is required when logging on to the online MindGames site.
